Godington Alaska (Sooty) is a 16 hh grey homebred mare, granddaughter to our foundation mare Lady Kallia xx. Sooty is by the showjumping stallion Gasparone out of Alpha Karolan (by Roland). She is a prizewinning mare, who has had a long career as a broodmare and is dam to winners including Godington Abyssinia (Gribaldi), Godington Astrakhan (Inspekteur) and Godington Amulet (Sir Graditz).
Her sire, Gasparone, was a black Trakehner stallion, also approved by the Baden-Württemberg studbook in South Germany. He was a notable jumping horse, and was used to refine the Oldenburg studbook. From the same mareline as the dressage superstar Kaiserkult TSF, Gasparone is sire to the graded Trakehner stallion Hakoon and a number of influential broodmares in Germany.
