Pernambuco is the breed's last approved son of the great Ibikus, who sired over 14 approved sons. Born and raised in Denmark and then approved in Germany, Pernambuco is out of a Mahogani mare and so carries some of the most successful and influential Trakehner dressage bloodlines. Pernambuco successfully competed at PSG dressage under Dorothée Schneider. Pernambuco was then at stud in France with the Muschamp stud before moving to the UK to concentrate solely on a ridden career.
