At his 2012 grading, Utah was the first addition to the ranks of British-bred Trakehner stallions for several years and we were touched by the genuine enthusiasm from judges and onlookers alike. He impressed the judges with his correct conformation, correct and energetic paces, brilliant jumping and exceptional temperament. In 2013 he began his work under saddle and continued to impress, both in 4 year old eventing classes and completing his Performance Test at Class 1 Elite with an all-time record score. After a successful eventing season with placings at BE100, his work at home shows an easy charm and confidence that holds great promise for the future. In 2015, a Utah-sired pure-bred filly took second place to the eventual Champion Foal at the Annual Trakehner Show. After considerable interest in 2016 and 2017, Utah foals were expected from as far afield as Teesside, and his foal out of Hannibal's senior premium-graded daughter was 2019 Foal Champion.

Utah’s sire Contis contributes charm, refinement, quality and performance from his sire Interconti (by the influential Consul out of a mare by the important dressage sire Mahagoni) and his dam sire Michelangelo, a highly significant sire in several studbooks and disciplines of ride able and elegant horses with excellent temperament and paces.

Utah’s dam Elite Mare Godington Uppsala carries the tremendous performance influence of Godington Stud’s foundation sire Roland, together with the important contributions of Handstreich and Karneol through her dam Ublah, a former TBF Supreme Champion. Uppsala herself has produced two Premium and Champion mares in addition to Utah, all three from different stallions.
